Received this message, llegedly from VM. If NOT me invited to verify account. 

How legitimate is this likely to be

Definitely not from Virgin Media given request to verify account due to failed login attempt.

Forward to phishing@virginmedia.com and delete; if during the send process a Spam Content Found warning is shown then Virgin Media are already aware of it and have started to block it.
