SPAM Content Found (VM603)

Please can anyone at virgin tell me when this problem will be fixed?

From today i can no longer send any emails to a single recipient with anything that contains any web inks such as:

http://www.

All I get is this response:

The server response was: SPAM Content Found (VM603) wljCgXbYdwJvjwljCgVgTF

This is a big problem. can anyone please advise when Virgin will sort out their spam filter so that email is functioning normally again?

Re: SPAM Content Found (VM603)

This cannot be a generalised issue because I just sent two e-mails  from my VM account (using an e-mail client and web mail) to another external account, containing a URL longer than the Channel Tunnel. They arrived instantly.

We do know that the outbound spam filters working on both VM's SMTP gateway and the web mail gateway are very easily triggered and for a variety of reasons. Quite often it is because other users have reported the URL as spam.

The unique token contained in your error message may help the VM Forum Team to identify the mail and what caused the issue. They will have to ask the company responsible for providing VM's filtering service (a highly reputable one I should stress) what happened.

All we can do is wait for them to pick up this thread, enquire and report back.

You can try splitting up the message between text and the URL and see what part doesn't send but it is better to wait and find out what is causing this.

Re: SPAM Content Found (VM603)

Hi Sasquash,

Thanks for your post and welcome to our forums page.

Very sorry to hear you are having issues with sending emails. Can you confirm what it is you are trying to send? I can see in your post that it is web links, can you give some examples of the website/web link you are trying to send please?

Thanks

Re: SPAM Content Found (VM603)

Hi Sasquash,

Very sorry, I didn't see your reply, I can see in the links you have posted, 3 out of the 4 don't have the 's' after the 'http' as this is the secure part, can you confirm if you are including the 's' in the link when you are sending it please?

Also, all the links you have posted are all to sites you would need to log into. Please can you try sending a link to the generic Google page please to see if this goes through?

Thanks

Re: SPAM Content Found (VM603)

@Lindsey_C

Just for information, I have just sent two emails from my VM Webmail account to my non VM email account

One containing the link https://soundcloud.com. That arrived in the inbox of my non VM email account.

One containing the link http://www.facebook.com. That arrived in the junk/spam folder of my external email account which is what I would expect.

Edited to add. Just sent the facebook link from my VM email account to my Gmail account and that arrived in the inbox with no problem.

Hope that helps

Coenoby

Hi there.

Just to confirm did you put the "s" after the HTTP on the email you sent to your Gmail?

Thanks

Re: SPAM Content Found (VM603)

Thanks for the replies everyone.  I still have the same problem, I included the 's' but still have the exactly the same issue.

The only way I can send emails at the moment is to delete my signature.

The links below are the specific l links I have been sending as my 'signature' on all my emails for years without issue.

No, it was a straight cut and paste from my previous test message http://www.facebook.com.

Re: SPAM Content Found (VM603)

As it arrived fine to the gmail account it might be to do with the other email provider.

Have you tried sending between gmail and your other account?
