Receiving old Emails

For the past few days I have been receiving emails dated 26 July 2019. Anyone any ideas why this is happening ?

This also happened for a while some time ago.

Re: Receiving old Emails

I think this thread covered some information that might help you?  If not, tell us more about your set-up - which email client, pop or imap, how many devices.

Re: Receiving old Emails

Two possible causes come to mind:

  1. Delays along delivery path.

To see if this is the case view the email's source, copy its headers and paste them into a suitable analyser, for instance, https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com

  2. Email's Date header has been deliberately / incorrectly specified.

Re: Receiving old Emails

I am only receiving them with the July date, and then only now and again. I'll try the analyser idea next time I receive another one, thanks both.

Re: Receiving old Emails from the same date.

It does not matter whether I use an email client, VM's webmail, or Android, for at least a month now I have been receiving old emails from the 26th of July 2019, and only from that date. In my email client they arrive in the Inbox already marked as junk, so I go to the webmail and put them on the blacklist, which updates the list.

Re: Receiving old Emails from the same date.

Thanks for your response/reply.

Yes I have read MissPasco's post. But my issue is that I am receiving mails from only the one date in July, They appear in my email client, Thumderbird, already marked as spam, but I have to back into Webmail and again add them to the blacklist.  !

Re: Receiving old Emails from the same date.

Thanks for getting back to me 🙂

Do the emails show as "new" when they come in, or do they still show the date they were originally sent or received?

If you can send me over headers for one of these emails (via PM) without any details edited so I can check what's happening?

I've popped you over a private message if you can please respond to that with the screenshot 🙂

Many thanks,

Re: Receiving old Emails from the same date.

Thanks for the help. At the moment I have not got one to send you the header from because as soon as I receive them I put them on the blacklist then I delete them. But as soon as I get another I'll send you the header from it.
