Please delete my Virgin.net email account

I've had my virgin.net email for about 20 years but it stopped working with no warning in December 2021.  I would like the account deleted so that emails bounce back and people know I have not received them.

I've tried ringing but Virgin Media staff don't seem to have heard of virgin.net emails and I just get passed from pillar to post, and then cut off.
