OX APP Suite AGAIN!!

Tuning in

Go to the web sites at your own risk

This 'https://mail2.virginmedia.com/appsuite/ui#login_type=useForm'  is the redirection I am pointed to after I've signed in via the normal virgin web page - 'https://www.virginmedia.com/'

It puts up the an all blue page web page with the words 'OX APP' Suite with a sign-on and password.

Called Virgin help whatever over phone - no real answer - surprising really as if I'm being re-directed which I did not ask for - I'm sure others are and you'd think Virgin would want to know about it?

Some forum pages point to 'it's solved thread' back in 2019 - it's not solved. I'm interested to know how the re-direction has suddenly appeared in a number of browsers I've tried.

Does Virgin support this?  I'm not signing in twice!

This is the outfit that seems to own OC App Suite - 'https://www.capterra.co.uk/software/58368/ox-app-suite

They are called - Capterra - google it if you don't wantt to use the link above - if you are getting this nonsense you can email them - their address is at the bottom. I've written today to ask what's going on and how to get rid of it - let's see what they say???

Meanwhile I'm using Edge's security options to block the mail2 web site until further notice.

The OX App issue is a real pain but it is not anything sinister.

In fact OX App is the platform that Virgin Media uses to deliver their webmail service. What should happen when you go to mail2.virginmedia.com,is that you are directed to Virgin Media's single sign on system. Then once you have logged in you are redirected to your Virgin Media Mailbox.

When things go wrong you can end up on the default OX Apps login screen (the blue one you are seeing) which will not recognise your email address / password

Deleting the VM cookies from your browser usually resolves this. However, it is a bit strange that you are seeing this with a number of different browsers.

You could also try using a Private window (Firefox) or Incognito Mode (Chrome) or an  InPrivate browsing window (Edge) since using those means the browser will not use any cookies stored in the browser.

I would still suggest deleting cookies in your browser(s) but if that does not work there may indeed be an underlying issue.

In fact the same problem occasionally arose before VM moved to their current email service. Back, then (pre 2015), VM used the old Google Apps email service for ISP's which was very similar to Gmail.  At that time VM used the same redirection process as part of the sign in and sometimes that went wrong. As now, that could result in users being directed to the wrong default login page - except in that case it was the Google login page.

browsers-

updating edge may help, just updated mine, go to settings (...)  and select help, then select "about microsoft edge" and it will update.

I notice today my history showed I had the log in page ox app suit when logging in  just on one occassion, but usually I get the correct virgin log in page.

best to keep all browsers up to date as they do not always update automatically, my google chrome browser was up to date.

Virgin are doing changes to the web site at the moment, so that may explain some of these issues.

I agree the ox app is unusual, but I do rember getting it a lot years ago but not recently as virgin have changed their log in to the "oauth" log in system.

this is what mine looked  like- (ox app)

Virgin Media Mail Sign in

It is a secure connection.

Join the club! I've been getting this OX appsuite for over three weeks now. On Internet Explorer, Edge and Chrome.

The emails flash on and off. Deleting an email  gives me the blue screen over and over again.

I've cleared cookies, history, done updates...

Virgin told me to change my password, no joy. Then they advised me to contact the Gadget fixers. Monthly fee of £5 plus £20  upfront.

I did not proceed with this.

I have no problem on my tablet or smartphone. Does anyone know how to get rid of OX appsuite?

Did you try try using a Private window (Firefox) or Incognito Mode (Chrome) or an InPrivate browsing window (Edge) as I  advised in post 2 of this thread and VIP 用心棒 suggested in your own thread  https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Email/OX-app-suite-How-do-I-remove-it  on 12th December?

I've just tried InPrivate on Edge. No OX appsuite but the emails flash on and off!

Thanks and a Happy Christmas to everyone this morning!

Thanks all for the useful info - good to see that it's not a bad thing, albeit a bit annoying.

In edge I looked at - https://appuals.com/how-to-block-websites-from-opening-in-windows-10/

and it appeared to work. There's some other browser option there.

Because of this I decided to have a look around for some other browsers and settled on 'Brave' which purports to be super secure - `didn't get the problem with Brave.
