Ntlworld email on outlook not working

Hello

My dad is a longstanding virgin media / ntl customer and uses his ntlworld email on outlook. This has now stopped working (constantly asked to input email and password in outlook) and even when logging in to virgin media webmail it has the standard “sorry your mailbox is not available at the moment”

My dad tried calling virgin media to no resolution and was told to wait a week for another team to be in touch. He needs email for his job so I am not sure how VM think its ok to wait a week to hear back? Please help

Yes tried those steps and probably everything I could find online.
