Keeping NTLWorld Email Account

Hi team, I’m asking on behalf of my partner who is getting divorced & moving address. If the place she moves to does not have Virgin Media - and thus she takes up a SIM only (contract) for a MiFi device - would she be able to take her NTLWorld email to Virgin Media Mobile?

Re: Keeping NTLWorld Email Account

Hello

If the email address is associated with a broadband account then she cannot transfer the email address as soon as she no longer has a broadband account then the email address will be deleted 90 days from the end of her contract.

Will it, though?  That is the intent stated in the terms and conditions, but scores of people tell us that it is still valid years later - even 15 years after moving abroad! *

So my advice (to Calts63 and partner) is to back up your emails and start transitioning to a new provider, preferably non-ISP. https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Forum-Archive/Backing-up-your-Emails-One-of-many-solutions/m-p/...

Don't use the out of office/vacation notice.  Turn off spam filtering, set up an autoforward to the new address, which will help you catch anything you missed or unsubscribe to the time-wasting stuff!

When the 90 days are up, check your address on mailtester.com.  If it comes back as valid, return here and ask for VM to manually delete the mailbox and address.  You don't want someone hacking into it, stealing your personal and financial details, spamming your family and friends AND you have no way to control it.  Good luck.

*  Here is one from earlier today https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Email/How-to-cancel-an-ntlworld-com-email-address-that-is-no-lo...  At least this person was not hacked!
