IMAP/POP3 isnt turned on - samsung s7

Tuning in

i have samsung S7 and an ntlworld email address.  i have been using the email adddress fine on both the S7 and a Tab S5.  i had to reset my phone and now i can't access email.  all the settings are as they should be as is the password.  i keep getting a message saying 'Pop3/Imap not turned on'.  But, my email still works on the Tab S5. 

I have read all the threads on this and nothing works.  I have tried turning off wifi and connecting via mobile data only.  i tried chnaging the port.  still doesnt work on the S7.   

Can anyone shed any light on this for me?

Have you tried accessing your email account by signing into your email account via VirginMedia webmail on their website? You can use this link https://mail2.virginmedia.com/  

Broadly speaking, if you can access the account from there then the problem lies with the phone, if you get an error it's a problem with the VM email account itself.

If you get the "Your mailbox is not available................try in an hour"  error it means that your account has been locked and you need to follow the instructions here to unlock it yourself.  https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Email/Email-accounts-locked-mailbox-unable-unable-to-access-ema...

I have been able to locate your account. Have you been able to use the suggestions from coenoby?
