Email error

For the last few days I haven’t been able to access my Ntlworld email account? There are 3 accounts at the address and not are working? We all access the emails through iPhones and haven’t had issues up until this week tried resetting but I can no log in either

1. What error messages are you seeing?
2. Are you using a web browser or the inbuilt iOS mail elient?
3. Do you currently have broadband internet through Virgin Media?

We are using the built in iOS mail client, we also have broadband with virgin which seems to be working well

the error is 

the mail server smtp.virginmedia.com is not responding

iOS is a pain because sometimes it says not responding even when the mail server sends back an error message.

However as a rule.  Concentrate on getting just one device working first - Once you've done that, you can apply the fix to the others.

Have you changed passwords recently?  If so the SMTP password needs to be changed separately (It's another quirk of iOS)

It shows how to get into the iOS smtp settings - while it was done on an iPad iPhones are virtually identical.  Delete and re-enter the password on this screen.
