Re: Email Connection timed out ?

Thanks to your suggestion Tim, accessing my Virgin email using Chrome has normalised. This indicates that the issues described do indeed appear to be pointing toward one or more cookies associated with Virgin Media.

Thanks again.

Mike

Have just gone in via a different browser and its fine - hurray! Surely it must be a browser compatability issue?

It's a logical assumption.  However people who use Edge and Firefox as their main browser have reported the same issue IIRC, which is why I made the post above.

Re: Email Connection timed out ?

I've also been getting a 'connection timed out' message when trying to access by (Blueyonder) email from the web browser - I am using Microsoft Edge and Explorer.  I am still able to access email through the 'Mail' application on my iPad, although it is very slow and some messages don't load the content, only the header information.

Re: Email Connection timed out ?

@ravenstar68,

FYI: when this issue occurs opening an incognito / private browsing session resolved the problem (AFAICS) which would support your earlier suggestion as to a possible cause.
