E mail on I pad

Hi, I have recently purchased an I pad Pro and have inputted all my e mail details and my wife's details. However I can receive e mails from both accounts but I cant send them. I have checked all the details and cant find anything different to those on my PC. Can anybody give me any idea what may be wrong.

I am assuming you have a current paid-for Broadband account 

Are you using an email client such as Apple Mail on the device?. 

Can you confirm that you are using the latest published server settings for your devices?
