Created a new email address, but not working

Trying to setup a second email address but keep getting this message:

"Auto configuration failed. Do you want to configure your account Manually"

So being deeply frustrated at what should be a simple process I have gone the manual route so:

1.What is the "Account Name" 

2.What is the server name?

Anyone know why the auto config isn't working, but then again the online chat doesn't work either

You have created the new email address before attempting to add it to your email client haven't you?

For instance if you want to create a second virginmedia email address then you need to follow the instructions set out here: How-To-Create-a-New-Email-Address

I hadn't as I hadn't found that screen. Thanks for the answer.

Its now getting on for an hour checking the availability of the email name. Do you know if this is normal?

I would say that wasn't normal.  Can you try using a different browser such as Chrome or Firefox if you currently use Internet Explorer?

Edit: I have just created a new email address to test the system following the instructions I pointed you at the check of availability produced an instant response.
