Constant spam inbox

The past couple weeks my inbox is getting full of spam - antivirus renewal notices in particular. I have “rules” set up but they’re constant now and driving me nuts. 
Can anyone at Virgin say why this has started happening again?

Yep - I noted that that the spam was starting again a while ago and it continues to accelerate. 
you can set up filters - but if previous outbreaks are to be a model - this will go on for a few months before it virgin media has its email management update something and it’ll go away again.
