Re: Cannot email a 300kb zip

VM603 error code means something in the message is triggering the spam filters.

Re: Cannot email a 300kb zip

Yes, plainly, but that doesn't help me because, as I said, the zip contains only png and html files.

Re: Cannot email a 300kb zip

It may be a temporary issue as the filters are regularly updated.  The Forum Team would need to refer this to their partners at Cloudmark to identify the exact cause and get it cleared if it is a false positive.

Re: Cannot email a 300kb zip

You wait here for the VM Forum Team to reply to this thread. Nothing else to be done. They usually reply fairly quickly.

If our experience is any guide something among the *.png images is triggering the filters. Either the *.pngs have been previously recognised as being spam or part of spam messages or they look similar to ones that were so recognised - ie "spammy".

The VM outgoing spam filters can be quite ruthless. If the message is urgent use another free e-mail service to send them or send a link to the images and other content via something like Google Docs, MS's One Drive or similar.

Whilst waiting consider trying the following:

  • send the email to yourself without the attachment
⇒  if successful use a service like Firefox Send to send the recipient a link from which to download the zip file
⇒  if not successful then something within the message body is triggering the false positive; divide the message content, disregard the half sent successful to yourself, and repeat division until cause is found.

Re: Cannot email a 300kb zip

What happens if you try to send the files unzipped?

Re: Cannot email a 300kb zip

There are many small files - too many to take the trouble to individually email, hence the zip.
