Can't delete email folder on android phone.

I have a blueyonder email account and a gmail one.

I was working on my laptop and wanted to create a folder - called say XXYY -  on my gmail account but mistakenly put it on my blueyonder one.

It was easy enough to put this right on my laptop and delete the unwanted folder from blueyonder.

But for some reason I cannot get rid of this mistakenly created folder from my phone. Everytime I look into my blueyonder email there, there is now a horrible XXYY plus a 0 (to show it's empty) - write at the top of the screen.

Any ideas how to get rid of it?

Many thanks

That seems to have worked. Thank you!

My only other question would be if I want to create another blueyonder subfolder how do I make sure it is in the My folders section along with the remaining subfolders. Outlook seems to want to put any new folders under Inbox?

I'm glad to hear that worked for you.

To answer your question, set up any new folders from within your VM webmail account rather that from within Outlook. Outlook will then just follow the folder structure in the VM webmail account.

As an aside, it's been a while since I used Outlook. For what it's worth in my view Mozilla Thunderbird is a much better option for managing emails https://www.thunderbird.net (and it's free.)

Going back to the image I included in my last post here's how to create a new personal folder in the My folders section:

  • Click on "My folders" in the list of folders
  • It will turn red, then click on the 3 horizontal lines to the tight hand side.
  • You will see the option "Add new folder"
  • Click on that and you will get the option to name the folder, then click on "Add"

That new folder will then appear in the folders listed under "My Folders".

Hope that makes sense.
