Just switched laptops and updated to Windows 11. While I can open my Blueyonder email account it will not operate nor has it moved over outstanding emails although I can access them via Virgin Media. Any suggestions will be welcome - thanks.

Install an email client like Thunderbird, and set up an IMAP account. It should download your emails from the Virgin server.

Still looking further into this but Jpeg1's answer was my original suggestion. However not sure if you are currently using a client as you say you can access your mails via my virgin media.
When you say open your blueyonder email account - is this from another device or email client such as outlook etc.? If so you definitely need to set up the IMAP & SMTP server settings.
