Blueyonder email won’t send on IPhone

My email won’t send on my iPhone, been like this for 2 days.

Its receiving mail ok but can’t send.

I get a message saying the my password is wrong on the outgoing SMTP server.

I've tried deleting the account and setting up again and even deleting the server and trying again but still no joy 

any help appreciated?

But a work around is to use webmail, which should be fine

There is a current fault with the VM mail system.  Unfortunately this is not listed on the Service status page.  There is a 'sticky' post at the head of this forum indicating issues with POP/IMAP - it should also mention SMTP 

There is nothing you can do until the fault is cleared other than using the webmail interface https://mail2.virginmedia.com/
