Blueyonder can not send emails

I have not changed any settings but today I have been unable to send emails on my iPad, iMac mini and iPhone. I have a blue yonder email address.

The error message I get is: Cannot send mail The username or password for smtp.virginmedia.com is incorrect.

Incoming emails are working? Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Roz

Re: Blueyonder can not send emails

Do you have a current Virgin media broadband account?

Do your settings match the current recommended ones https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Email/Email-settings-change/td-p/3369438/jump-to/first-unread-m...

What error messages do you see?

Re: Blueyonder can not send emails

Yes I have current broadband account with virgin. I have checked settings and they agree with the link you posted.

The error message is “The username or password for smtp.virginmedia.com is incorrect”

Re: Blueyonder can not send emails

Is this still happening?  I should have added to my previous reply that the SMTP.virginmedia.com server appeared to be down earlier this afternoon.  That fault was swiftly resolved.

When logged into My Virgin Media with the primary username for you account do you see the email address concerned under My Profile or Manage Accounts?

Re: Blueyonder can not send emails

Yes user name is set up as in “My Profile” I went in and changed the password just to make everything was set up as it should be. I received confirmation of changed password.

It is only the outgoing affected.

Thanks for taking a look.

Re: Blueyonder can not send emails

The VM xxx error code is key to solving this.  If you look at the pink 'sticky' posts at the head of this form there is guidance on identifying the error code and dealing with sending errors using Apple Devices.
