Blacklist

I have been receiving quite a lot of spam recently and have been trying address the issue. I have added the offending addresses to the blacklist but I'm still receiving emails from the same senders. When I try to add them again I'm informed that they are already on the list. Why are they still getting through?

There is an issue and the solution is complex or necessarily obvious.

Blacklisting only works if the mail is in your in-box because the blacklist option is a simple filter and VM's filters only work on mail arriving in your in-box.
