Authentication failed

I am getting this, had worked fine for years ..

"Sending of password for user [MOD EDIT: PERSONAL INFORMATION REMOVED]@ntlworld.com did not succeed. Mail server pop3.virginmedia.com responded: Authentication failed"

any ideas ?

Try following the instructions set out here: Email accounts locked, mailbox unable, unable to a... - Virgin Media Community - 4808847

Wait an hour after changing the password before retrying to access the account.

I changed my password, then all was well

Then I received an email saying there was a security issue and my account was locked

Changed my password again

All okay but took far too much of my time, for a service I am paying for ..
