Not sure where I add the details you sent. 🤔

I just did a quick Google for you:

https://support.google.com/mail/answer add-an-account  for the full details.

Here are the key steps:

  • On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app coenoby_0-1642344556546.png.
  • In the top right, tap your profile picture.

  • Tap Add another account.
  • Choose the type of account you want to add.
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.

Best to use IMAP rather than POP3. IMAP will keep you emails and folders in sync not just in the email apps on both your devices but also on the VM website.

These are the settings to use:

IMAP4 server name

imap.virginmedia.com

IMAP4 SSL

Enabled

IMAP4 port

993

IMAP4 authentication

Enabled (or 'Password' on Macs)

IMAP4 username

Full email address, for example, richard.branson@virginmedia.com

Note: If you update your username in My Virgin Media, this email address will not change.

SMTP Settings

SMTP server name

smtp.virginmedia.com

SMTP SSL

Enabled

SMTP port

465

SMTP authentication

Enabled (or 'Password' on Macs)

SMTP username

Full email address, for example, richard.branson@virginmedia.com

Note: If you update your username in My Virgin Media, this email address will not change.

The specific instructions for setting up that information on your phone or tablet will vary depending on the email app you are using. Those apps are usually pretty intuitive and take you through the steps to set up an email account so it is quite simple to do. Many of them will auto complete the server details once you enter your email address.

Hi, just bought a new smart phone but having trouble adding virgin media email to it.  Tried all above suggestions but won't do it.  I have an old email address with 'blueyonder' in it so not sure if that's the problem.  I picked the IMAP account but it then asks me for a password which i do not know. How can i find out what the password is?  I put one in it could be but then get a heading called 'incoming server settings' asking for user name (know that one) but also wanting a password and a server.  The password i put in cannot be right as there is a constant cross against it.   The server is a default 'blueyonder.co.uk' but wondering whether that is right.   Any views?

Hi Jonathan5,

Thank you for reaching out to us here on the Community.

I am very sorry to hear you are having issues adding your email account to your new handset.

Which phone do you have please?

Thank you,

Nat

Hi. I've had the same problem.

Sign into your my virgin media account, go to your e-mails and sign in to your e-mail account.

Once signed in it should give you an option to add a shortcut to your mobile phone screen.

Hold down the icon & drag it onto your home screen. That's it.
