what ever happend to customer loyalty?????

WHAT EVER HAPPEN TO CUSTOMER LOYALTY.......

remember the quote virgin made a few years ago   we treat all Customers as equal.

The UK’s biggest broadband, phone and pay TV companies have committed to put fairness at the heart of their business, after signing up to Ofcom’s new Fairness for Customers commitments

I remember a few years ago they made a big thing of Customers equality ( old & new) and I and many more of my friends took up there offer, and true to there word they gave it to us, but as time slip away and so do our memory, its become a long forgotten buried jem of loyalty..

I have tried to find the original letters & posting on the internet but there all gone, wipe out, deleted, erased, get the picture.. so much for customer loyalty....

I have been with (NTL,VIRGIN) since the first day (90's) the cable were put in the ground and installed in my house, I even sold it street by street for NTL, and have been with them ever since, the service I cant fault, but there loyalty business practice is atrocious, but its a company that soul purpose is to make money.

The reason for this post is I have just had my money reduced by the DWP/PIP and have to make changes on what I can afford, So phoned Virgin C/S, the best thy can do is £34 p/m for 50mb internet with phone I never use, now I had to go to the lowest Mobile phone tariff they had, so sorry for my rant, but thy have just came up with ANOTHER slap in the face  for loyal customers.....

'£18.75'

100Mb

Effective monthly cost
Costs added up: £25/mth Virgin Media line rental & broadband
Ends 25 Jul

Loyal customer for 26yrs = nothing        NEW Customer for 0yrs = Everything

RANT OVER sorry & thank you.

Re: what ever happend to customer loyalty?????

you aren't a "new customer" so how is that relevant?
also, loyalty is a two way thing.

bottom line - don't like the prices? go elsewhere.

Re: what ever happend to customer loyalty?????

what does that have to do with new customers though?
you were a new customer once and would have got a new customer deal - so you aren't being treated any differently.

Re: what ever happend to customer loyalty?????

no company is loyal. neither is any customer.

companies are there to make money first then provide a service. customers stay because it suits themselves be it on price, service or something else. no other reason.

your long winded paste from the dictionary offers nothing to your 'argument'
new customers get the better deals to groom them in. everyone else pays the going rate. it works across the board through many industries.

you had your 'everything' option 26 years ago. if you leave to join another provider you will again be one of the new crowd receiving that everything option from the start.

Re: what ever happend to customer loyalty?????

i think we're saying, vote with your wallet.
if you don't like the prices then take your business elsewhere.

cable TV and super fast broadband is a luxury - if you can't afford it then stick to freeview and slower internet.

Re: what ever happend to customer loyalty?????

let's agree that you disagree.

virgin (or any other company) don't owe you anything other than to provide the service you pay for.
if loyalty were a thing then you'd be saying with virigin regardless of what the price was - that's what loyalty means.

it seems most people think loyalty only works one way - ie to their benefit.
