Just read it but I actually had wind of it a couple of months back.
The question is will Virgin be following suit informing people along the lines of Vodafone?

They should, but will they?
Could do with Vodafone pulling their finger out with 5g in my area. There's only pockets of it spread about. Hopefully 3g shutdown will accelerate all that.

At the moment the 2100Mhz 3G has been refarmed for 4G and 5G using DSS. The intention is to use the remaing 900Mz 3G for 5G services. That's why the did not bid when the lower frequencies came up.
