Hi,
I have tried all of the codes for a Hisense tv and read previous posts but can’t seem to get the volume to work on the tv. I also seem unable to get into scan mode

You don't say which VM set top box yuo have, however if it's a 360 then there have been no posts by customers with Hisense issues.
With a TV or V6 try the following codes
0009, 0025, 0073, 0091, 0145, 0156, 0182, 0216, 0208, 0209, 0227, 0326, 0366, 0508, 0696, 0748, 0753, 0780, 0821, 0848 and 1170
Also if you have either a TIVO or V6 then go to Home > HOME > Help and Settings > Help > Set up Remote.
Follow instructions there it should give you a series of codes to try.
You can also put 0999 in place of the code and press channel Up until the TV turns off, then press OK. (some posts say to press channel Down) so try both methods.
