Can I change tivo remote to radio frequency

I have a new TV unit and want to put tivo box inside what do I need to do to get the remote to work through the door of tv unit? Remote is IF

Perhaps just upgrading your box is a simpler idea as they come with RF

Hi, do you mean change it to Bluetooth.  What Box do you have?  360 and V6 are capable of this

We have a tivo box and are getting a  new TV unit to put tivo box in but the remote control won't work as it is infa red not radio frequency  how do we get round this?

You could upgrade your box to a new one

You wouldnt be using Radio Frequency, the remotes are either IR or Bluetooth.  Bluetooth would work through the door where IR would not.  Have you got a V6 or an older Compass TiVo500?

The V6 is capable of Bluetooth same as the 360.  Old Compass box only uses IR

Virgin boxes dont use bluetooth, they use RF or infared.

V6 and 360 remotes are Bluetooth enabled and have to be paired with the box to work in cupboards.  Older TiVo remotes use IR and have to be in line of sight
