No you cant. I agree with JohnWN. When you log into MVM and change the password, it changes the the third party email password - I know, I have tried it. You cannot log into MVM for the specific virginmedia email address unless you know the password for it (which obviously I don't). If you select 'password forgotten' it asks you for the third party email address (in my case GMail) to send the password reset link to - unfortunately it just then resets the Gmail password - I know, I have tried it. There is no way of going into your account and managing the specific virginmedia email address if you have forgotten the password for it.
I should add that my MVM account (3rd party) email and password is linked to my virginmedia email address. Which means that I can access that particular virginmedia mailbox via the web. What I need to be able to do is access the same Virginmedia email account on my Windows Live Mail (WLM) platform. I used to be able to do this but now need to reset the password for access through WLM.

Hi Leon07,
Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums. ⭐
We're sorry to hear you're having issues accessing your mail via Windows Live. You'll need an app password in order to sync your mails.
As you've already set up the third party email address, most of the steps have been taken. Please log in to My Virgin Media here > Click on Account settings > Virgin Media Mail settings > scroll down to the App password section and click the Generate new App password button.
You should get a pop up message asking you to verify your email address and you'll be sent a one time passcode to enter on the next page to verify it's you. Once verified you'll then be given an app password which will look something similar to: mail-horse-yellow-panda and you should note this down.
To get things working on an email client or app again, you will need to enter the new mail password in the settings. This will allow your emails to load again. In some cases, you may need to remove the email account from the mail client or app completely and re-set it up as fresh. If this is the case for you, please ensure you use your VM email address as the username and the newly generated app password.
These changes have been put in place as Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is now required. Just as a side note, when logging in to My VM, you will need to continue to use the third party email address as the username and your original My VM password.
Please let me know how you get on and apologies for the inconvenience.
Thanks,

Sorry but I do not get any of these options (Virgin Media Mail settings > scroll down to the App password section and click the Generate new App password button). If I click on Virgin Media email settings I just get account locked - yet I can access the address (on webmail) by signing in to the actual address using the third party email address linked to it. If I go into Account Details - my email addresses are all listed but there are no options to manage them (only delete).

As explained above, you cannot change details of the secondary accounts from within your main account. You have to log in to their own individual MVM accounts to edit them.
