An update to this, I've been through hell the last couple of hours trying to sort this out. The problem is that my inbox won't work, it says the account is unavailable, yet I am able to send using SMTP auth using the same credentials.
I've spoken to customer services and 2nd line, both of which were completely useless. They wanted me to to tell them my password as they did not believe I was typing it in correctly. I've changed my password and the same problem is from 2 browsers for webmail, Outlook and my phone email client. I have even set my gmail as the login email now, and set up a different "app password" for email, which still works for sending. The problem is I can't log in to my inbox - is there anyone in customer service who can even understand this? The last person I spoke to put me through to the team that help fixing my PC. Absolute joke.

emailwoes There is currently an issue with accessing Virgin Media Mail which may be impacting on your separate issue. It would be advisable to wait until the current fault is resolved before following up on your main issue.
