New customers only.

Does this mean someone who has never been a VM customer or just somebody who isn't one now?

  • 'New' might be someone who has never been a VM customer before but previous customers can also be 'new' if they have left VM for 90+ days before rejoining.

90 days before returning is the 'official' time limit most often quoted on here but there have been past examples of former customers rejoining as 'new' more quickly when a particular agent wants to chalk up another sale.

As ever with VM, outcomes for individual customers can vary wildly.

If a wife or partner joins VM at the address the 90 day rule does not seem to apply. Of course the account would be in their name as VM do not allow joint names on an account.

I have left VM a couple of times and returned as a "new" customer.  The period of absence was over the 90 days noted by goslow   From memory one was 6 months and the other about 4 months.
