Re: Netflix says i'm using a Vpn...

Can you help me please? I am having this exact issue. Been using netflix on my TV with no issues. Then one day it says I'm using a VPN and won't allow me to watch anything.

I am not personally using a VPN and never have. Netflix has advised me to contact you.

  • I am also having this issue, and have checked that link that was sent and my location is in the UK, I am with Virgin Media, it has my IP address and ipv6 said not detected.

I contacted Netflix and they said to contact you, I don't know what else to do.

Put hub in modem mode then try Netflix.

Your IP can change and so the one who had the IP before used a VPN with Netflix then Netflix waits for you to log in under a the true IP they had and blocks you yet you get that IP log in and  Netflix still blocks you so Netflix is in the wrong here.

  • It's probably because the IP address allocated to your internet connection is one that's wrongly listed by Netflix as a proxy IP. Netflix have been told numerous times to check the accuracy of their proxy lists from other ISP users as well as VM.

  • Hi all

i am having the same issue.  Checked the what’s my IP link above and can confirm it’s a UK ip address.  Also checked using mobile data only and it works fine so must be something to do with the Virgin Network.

Anyone have any luck resolving this?

  • I'm having the same issue.

    ISP: Virgin Media Limited

    City: London

    Region: England

Country: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

    IPv4: removed

    IPv6: Not detected

It happens on every device (PC, mac, android, tv). I signed off Netflix from every device, no luck.
    Please help!

Apple Relay is a VPN !

Have you used the link above to confirm the ISP is VM in the UK ?

  • Hi.

I too am having this exact same issue.  started today. Getting error mgs:

    There's a problem

You seem to be using a VPN or proxy. Please turn off any of these services and try again. For more help, visit netflix.com/proxy.

    OK

    I'm not using a vpn.

I checked via fast.com and details confirm my home area. I get the exact same issue via my phone, ipad and Netflix app on my firestick.

I reset my router. Didnt fix the issue. Can't watch anything on Netflix

Contacted Netflix and they've said to contact my ISP, so here I am.

    Please help!!

You don’t say what device you’re using or if you’ve tried Netflix on another device. A smart TV is unlikely to be on a VPN but there are phone apps that can setup VPN without you really being aware. Rebooting the router may get you allocated a different IP address which may solve the issue.
