Moving Router

I need to move my router to another room - boosters will not work for what i want, I am able to do the job myself but need the cable to extend from the entry point into the house into the router, the cable needs to be around 12 metres, Trying to get hold of an actual person to speak to through Virgins phone system is impossible and, of course, none of the option allow for this sort of query

I dont think the cable is coaxil not sure what it is, anyone any ideas how i can get a cable? I understand the cost of Virgin doing it is £25 but again, how on earth do i get in touch with them for them to do it

  • Hi there RussPr 👋 Welcome to our forum and thanks for your post 😊

Sorry to see you've not been able to get in touch with the team regarding the Hub being moved. I'll certainly be happy to help you with this. I'll pop you a PM to confirm some details so this can be done.

    Regards

    Nathan

      Hi Nathan

im trying to give you the info requested in your message but it wont let me, it says i have reached the maximum number of replys?

  • If you have full fibre and a Hub 5X then it will be a fibre optic cable not coax.

You can either call Virgin on 150 from a Virgin phone, mobile or landline, or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone to report a fault, or wait here for one of the forum team to pick this up which might be 2 to 3 day's.

When phoning choose the option to report a fault, then ignore all the options offered and you should then be placed into a queue to speak to someone and then explain you need a "non-fault tech callout" for £25.
