Hub 5 Ethernet ports stopped working, keeps restarting

I've a Hub 5 with 3 ethernet cables connected. 1 to an 8 port switch that feed multiple devices, a 2nd to the TiVo 6 box, a 3rd to smart TV. This setup has been working fine for years. Since last Sat...

Hub now completely dead. No lights at all. Green light on power supply, tested with multimeter and seems to be supplying steady 12v.

    Update: got up early to phone VM at 8am to find hub was back on, solid white light, internet connected, and ethernet seems currently connected.

    Last night left hub switched on,( but appeared dead for over an hour at least) and Tivo on standby (red light).

    This morning TiVo off completely, hub back up and running.

    What on earth is going on??
