Hub 4 or Hub 5 in modem mode.

I have 1Gig Internet and a mesh system so I'm using my hub 4 in modem mode.  Is there any difference between  hub 4 and hub 5 when used in modem mode.

  • Well the hub 5 was delivered. I installed it changed it to modern mode, now have speeds of around 1151 down and 123 up so both have increased the download by around 200 and up by about 28, so I'm happy with that. Now to improve the network around my house to take some pressure off the WiFi as have over 50 devices using WiFi.

If your mesh router supports 2.5Gbps WAN input, the Hub 5 removes the usual 1Gbps bottleneck as it has a 2.5Gbps port.

So I should be asking virgin for a Hub 5. I did think this. What department should I try to get through to our will a trip on here contact me. When I had the 1Gig upgrade the guy struggled to get above 900meg and on testing it's never gone above 925meg normally around 850meg just thought that was best I could get here in only a 100 metres out so from the cabinet.
