I was watching the latest BBC nature blockbuster (Kingdom).
The background music for it only comes out the right channel - the speech and other sounds are spread evenly across left and right.
I remember this happened the last time the BBC came out with a major wildlife programme as well.
Other programmes are not affected - the stereo is evenly balanced.
Any idea why ?
Thanks for checking. That is really weird - I'm 100% sure it happens for me - it makes the series unwatchable for me via Virgin - I've set a series record on Freeview instead.

No - I don't have speakers connected to the TV
It is just the BBC 1 "Kingdom" show - other shows are fine.
It happens on live TV and when it's been recorded.

It only happens when watching a recording (or live) via TV through the Virgin box.
I have watched via Iplayer (on a computer) and it is fine.
I watch TV with headphones on so the effect is easily noticeable.
People using the sound via in built TV speakers may not notice it.
Using my V6 recording & iPlayer, listening via headphones & my AV speakers, I can't replicate this. A slight left-channel bias with some of the narration, but otherwise it seems fine.
This from just watching one or two-minute blocks - to not spoil too much for when I properly get round to this series1
I'll test this out later, I've got this recorded so can give it a quick 5 minute test.
