Problems with Remote and TV box

Since August the consistency of the VM 360 system has been problematic and one set of recordings have been lost. this is the second time it has happened with VM in 12 months. But last night was very frustrating as although the remote powered up the TV it came on to ITV, but when I used the remote to go to BBC1 the ITV picture went small and sat in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. After that the remote would not change anything. So I went through the diagnostics of the box and tv and they came out okay. Then I put new batteries in the remote but no improvement. I then re-paired the remote with the VM 360 box and that seemed to have been successful, but still the remote would not control the TV via the VM box. 

So a new remote is on its way to me. I have now downloaded the VM Go tv app to an iPhone and iPad and it seems to work the box and tv with guide and recordings all visible. But I get a message on the app that another app is running, yet whether I look on the iPhone or iPad for the life of me can I see what or where another app may be located. Should I be concerned or just ignore it. 

I must say that last night was the last straw as since summer the overall system has been fragile to say the least and my wife was not amused to loose the second set of recordings. Comments like " lets go back to Humax, or Vodaphone/Sky like our kids do were made".

Anyway I'm hoping the most recent issues are associated with the remote, otherwise I will be asking for the box to be looked at.

  • As an update yesterday I tried the "old" remote again and everything worked perfectly. Which I find quite frustrating as we now  are on tenterhooks for other outages, or freezing.
