Change to TV360

I've had an email saying 'your TV box needs a free upgrade'. I have a V6 box, with lots recorded that I don't want to lose yet. Is this 'upgrade' compulsory? If so, how long have I got before it has to be done? What happens to my box if I don't bother?

  • It's not compulsory at present, and VM haven't released any details yet as when it would become compulsory.  If you don't accept this current offer then you carry on as you are with your current box(es)

  • Thank you all for the advice, I think I'll forget about the 'upgrade' for the time being.

Do nothing is the best advice, its a downgrade.  Have a read through the forum, and opt out of marketing.

On what basis does the email claim your box "needs" an upgrade, as opposed to offering you the option of one?

The "upgrade" in question is a conversion of your box from TiVo-software to Horizon-software, known as a TV360. Completely different software, with many substantial differences.

The conversion is completely voluntary, and if you don't accept the offer, your V6 will continue as it is. There are no current plans for compulsory conversions.
