360 Box flashing white light....

Two days ago we started getting problems with our 360 box which has always been ok.  The profile screen keeps popping up and the white light on box continually flashes when this happens.  If I press the TV button on the remote the 'profile' screen goes away but when TV button is released it comes back.  I noticed the remote lighting up and the 'profile' screen appearing without anything being touched!  I have changed batteries in the remote and did a reset over the phone to VM but still the problem exists.  I have just discovered providing I take batteries out of remote the 'profile' screen doesn't appear but of course cannot do much with tv etc.   Question......is this a problem with the remote or the 360 box? An engineer is due out soon but just wondered whether anybody has had a similar problem?

  • The profile button appears to be ok and 'clicks'/ moves when pressed etc but thanks to all for answering the post. I'll look into the TVGO app but wondering whether I still need visit from VM engineer who's coming Monday. Just don't want to be charged for a call out although shouldn't be as possible faulty remote/box?

      Hi troikafloyd,

Thanks for your post and welcome back to our community.

How have things been since posting please?

Do you still require an engineer visit?

Please pop back to us when you can.

If the fault is still there, then keep the appointment.

  • It does sound like a stuck or faulty profile switch. If you can't unstick it you can always take the batteries out of the remote and use the TVGO app as a remote, or if your TV has a smart remote and you have paired that to the TV you could use that.

Possibly the profile button on the side of the remote is stuck or faulty.
