Hi, I have an old tivo box. Recently it just keeps restarting itself every 30 minutes or so. I know it's out dated and I need to update it but my problem is I have a non verbal autistic 7 year old that can't use the new 360 remote control. So I was wondering if virgin still does the v6 box with the similar remote as the tivo?
The TiVo-box is indeed quite dated, but TiVo-software on the V6 is still an excellent product and fully supported.
The only reason you should need to convert to TV360 is if you request it or accept an invitation to do so. If neither of those apply, TiVo's are fault-swapped to V6 as a matter of course - presuming you have VM home broadband which is a requirement.
Thank you for your reply. I did upgrade about a year ago now so upstairs i have a 360 box but downstairs i ended up keeping the tivo box because of my son. Do you think this may affect things..?
TiVo & TV360 are completely different platforms, thus you won't have a 360 mixed with a TiVo.
The TV360 & V6 both use the same box, so it sounds like you have a V6 upstairs & TiVo downstairs. I would post a link to photos, but this forum currently has a problem with links so I can't.
TiVo's are fault replaced with V6 as a matter of course. If any VM staff offer you a migration to TV360 (often called an "upgrade"), just be firm with them.
