BBC iPlayer to stop working soon

Dear Virgin Media,

It was disappointing to read your recent email that support for the BBC iPlayer is ending in July on your Tivo service. There is a query I would like to ask you regarding this, please can you message me as soon as possible so I can send you a private message?

    Thanks for the insight Tudor, pity if the BBC has decided to do this. Still, iPlayer is supposed to be included in my Virgin Media package. The email I received from Virgin Media mentioned upgrading to a 360 box, and I am reaching out through this forum to Virgin Media with a urgent personal query regarding this. Will a Virgin Media Forum Team member help please?

      As you have been told many times, the forum doesn't work like that. It's a user forum, not a way to bypass the usual contact arrangements for personal queries. 

      Post your query here. The question and the answer will no doubt be helpful for many other posters.

      If there is likely to be a personal aspect to the question I am sure one of the staff will contact you.

      If your query is urgent, you should contact VM on 0345 4541111 or 150 from a VM landline. This forum has never been intended as a real-time or live support method.

    Sometimes things aren't as black and white as may be presumed...

    This forum used to be a useful place for customers suffering from hearing difficulties to receive help with issues. This forum also used to be a positive and helpful space where Team Members were happy to provide support. Disappointing to find that this is no longer the case, and that Virgin Media find it acceptable to ignore their customer.

      @Carley_S has just replied to you. That may not be the answer you need, but if you had actually said what you want you would have been properly answered nine days ago.

    What will happen when you press the Red Button on BBC channels ?
    It currently loads a popout with iPlayer options.

    Glad to have had a reply from the Forum Team after over a week. The nature of the query was made clear from the start, it concerns support ending for BBC iPlayer and the email sent to me from Virgin Media regarding this. As personal details are involved in the query I have kindly asked for these to be kept private through messaging with a Virgin Media Forum Team member. Surely other Community Members and Virgin Media can appreciate that there are some details that need to be kept private. I very much hope that this reasonable request will be granted soon and that a private message will be received so that this can be sorted out.

    I'm sorry pm71 that I do not know the answer to your question, I should think that if you have a Tivo box that after Wednesday 23 July the iPlayer will no longer load if you press the red button. Perhaps the team and other Community Members will be happy to assist here?
