Only available at one address at my postcode

Hi, the road just outside the block of flats I’m moving into had the road dug up and installed full fibre over a year ago but only 1 address shows up when I put the postcode in which gets speed up to 2gig. The cable pits are the same the ones outside my flat and the one outside the address that shows up on postcode checker which is just up the street. I highly doubt they’d do months of building work just to only supply one address with full fibre. Can I get someone to have a look at this. Thanks

  • There is more flats down the road and there addresses appear, the flats on the ground floor don’t appear either

Hi Calico1 👋 Welcome to the community forum! Thanks for posting.

Sorry to hear you are having some difficulties getting the information you need about whether services are available at your address.

As the community has already advised there can be a number of reasons services may not be available - including the ones already listed. But there also may be an issue with how the addresses are listed which could need to be rectified (this particularly happens with new builds).
We can help 👉 register your interest if you haven't done so already via our website. I will send you a PM to confirm a few details to do this if needed! You can find the PM in the top right corner of the page in your Inbox ✉. Thanks for your patience in the meantime! 🌞

VM do not automatically add blocks of flats or apartments to the checker for 2 reasons:

    1. Wayleave agreements. Most of this type of property require VM to cross someone else's land to get to the customer. Until these are obtained, they won't mark a property as serviceable.
    2. Internal wiring.  Flats above 2 floors high MUST have internal wiring to VM specification installed by the building management. External wiring above 2 floors requires heights teams, which VM only has a small number, not to mention that in most cases now it is not allowed by the Local Authority.
