The 14 days doesn't start until the service is connected, so you have time to consider what to do.
Thanks. Got to rely on Yodel doing their part today and actually delivering the thing!
in the meantime I’m going to research MiFi options for backup, and alternative broadband suppliers that I can just plug in and go without the need for an engineer! I assume as there’s an Openreach box that BT would be a good place to start but who knows 🤷🏼♀️

If there is a working Openreach ONT in the house, then there many ISP’s to choose from. EE, Sky, Plusnet etc etc

This might be a silly question, but how do I know if the Openreach box/connection is working? Is it just a case of ordering a service, plugging it in and hoping for the best? Or can I check this in advance do you know?

look at 3 if they are in your area - £25 ish a month for 400 ish down 200 up is possible and even better than that possibly - 30 day deal so leave when you want - cheaper if you take a contract - i went with them for a while when i could stand this lot no longer - it was only City Fibre coming to my area that moved me on from 3

Thanks, will do! This sounds like a good option for us as a back up even, our WFH isn’t very heavy or demanding online, it’s just online calls and remotely accessing emails etc.
