Thanks.
Despite asking for all this in writing, regarding the dongle, the representative once again failed to supply any written documentation.
It's all lies to get us off the phone.
After explaining that Virgin Media doesn't sell dongles, that you have no idea how much they cost, or how much I'm limited to in terms of data per month, they can't make that promise - she didn't seem to care.
I'm stunned to be honest.
Clearly operating with no regard for truth, clarity, or reason.
@jpeg1 and @-tony- have summed up the reality of how VM operates. The 6 week wait may be a minimum and may well be a lot longer so you should start making some other plans to get connected in the meantime.
VM tends to operate in and around urban areas so it is unusual that you have no corresonding mobile options whatsoever at your location. Are you in some remote rural location which has no mobile coverage or some other reason for no mobile signal?
If mobile is not an option then you should start looking at Openreach alternatives for an interim connection. The Openreach checker should tell you what kind of services you can get
https://www.openreach.com/fibre-broadband
although Openreach only provides the infrastructure to other service providers (not to individual domestic customers) so the checker would only tell you what kind of services you might be able to get from a residential provider.

Thanks.
We are unfortunately in a blackspot area for everything.
Despite being ONE road away from full 5G, full top speed fiber - our street has literally denied all access to everything. We are 5 meters away from a connected fiber line. We've been told by the neighbours that our side of the street, and a few other houses fully denied all access to operators - and as such, we have no lines. In terms of mobile, 4g or 5g dongles, etc - the same thing happened.
Council decided to fully deny all cellular activity in the area and have no ability to provide Three or anyone else to the postcode.
I looked on the coverage maps - we are literally a hole in the middle of extremely high connected areas.
And despite standing in the room, with our new landlord, and asking if we had full fiber access - we now understand they also lied to our faces - knowing full well there isnt.
It's like a bad play.- goslow9 months agoAlessandro Volta
So what does the Openreach checker, linked above, say is available to you?
It is certainly an unusual story. I have friends and family in some fairly remote and inaccessible locations (from a telecoms POV) yet all of them can get an Openreach connection of some kind or other.
Have I understood you correctly when you say that on one side of your street there are houses which have no telecoms connections at all, no landline connections at all and no mobile coverage (apart from VM broadband, that is, who might install at some future time)?
