Broadband activation joke

My broadband was meant to be activated on Friday the 21st. The engineer turned up and said he can't do the job as it's a over head pole fed not underground. Then I heard nothing everyday. They have not rang me once. Ive got a disabled person in the house who relys on the internet for his fall alarm. Yet I've been without internet since Friday. And 0 contact from virgin unless I ring them and get told the same thing every time. To make a complaint. Which I do then hear nothing back like usual. I must have about 5 complaints logged at the moment. Yet 0 action has been taken. This company is a joke. They can send salesmen to your door to get you signed up yet they mess you around like this after.

  • Hey lukeldn, thank you for reaching out and a warm welcome to the community we are so sorry to hear about this install issue.

We can see you've spoken to the team since this post, did they manage to help at all?

Yes, fine, but if you check through these forums, you will find distressingly similar issues - I believe the record time as reported on here between the time VM promised, absolutely promised, that the person would be connected up, and to when it actually happened, was a little under 18 months, yes months, that wasn’t a typo!

The only thing you can do is to look forward to the compensation you are owed, it is a little under £6 per day from 21st, the reason for the delay is irrelevant, although VM will try all sorts of tricks to claim otherwise and you aren’t entitled to anything!

Other than that, sorry, but there is nothing anyone can do to expedite this installation, it’ll happen as and when. Oh but do remember that even if you decide to cancel and go elsewhere, VM are still obliged to pay you the required compensation.
