RE: Changing your package mid-contract

Hello,

I am currently have a contract with Virgin Media whereby Virgin provide the M125 Fibre Broadband package, which ends in July 2025. I'm currently able to upgrade to the M250 Fibre Broadband for an extra £4 a month - if I opt to upgrade within my current contract, will this "renew" my contract for another 18 months, or will my contract still expire in July 2025?

Many thanks

  • Thanks folks. I'm not looking at renewing the contract unfortunately - just hopeful that I might be able to boost the speed whilst I am with Virgin Media still for broadband. Thanks very much!

We'd recommend speaking to our retentions team to confirm if a new contract would be set up. However, going of previous experience, this will likely be the case.

      Regards

Thanks for posting in regards to package and potential upgrade, we appreciate you taking the time to raise this via the forums. Welcome to the community.

Any customer changing their package either completely or upgrading/downgrading any tiers within the package would result in a new 18 month contract.

  • Anyone in the house with an O2 sim? If so you could get the speed boost free via Volt benefits.

And I imagine you might well get a price rise in April too on your new contract!
