    Much then depends whether you want a quick solution, or a good solution. The outcome may well not be the same - rushing into a re-contract negotiation could well leave you unprepared.

    If you set up a new account with a new account holder, beware of losing the existing landline phone number (even if VM claims you can transfer it). That has been the subject of regular complaints on here from customers doing similar to what is being suggested when setting up a new account holder. Any VM email addresses linked to the existing account would also go when the existing account closes.
