There’s a busy weekend of sport coming up with unmissable action across all hours of the day and night. Here is where you can find the pick of the drama.

Cricket - The Ashes

The time for talk is almost over. After an intense build up to this winter’s Ashes down under, the first test of the series finally gets under way in Perth this weekend. And what a series it promises to be.

England haven’t won an Ashes series in Australia since 2010/11, but with Joe Root in the form of his life and Ben Stokes at his all-round best, the visitors will feel they have a chance to set that record straight.

Australia, meanwhile, are without their fast-paced bowling due of Pat Cummins and Josh Hazelwood for the opening test. Can England use that to their advantage? They may need to, as history suggests the first test is crucial. Only four times in Ashes history (a series running since 1882) has a side lost the first test and gone onto win the series.  The stage is set for a captivating opening test match. Play gets under way at 2.20am each morning.

First Test, Perth - Friday 21st to Tuesday 23rd November (TNT Sports)

Football - Premier League

After a thrilling international break that produced more drama than Christmas day on Albert Square, the Premier League returns this weekend with a lot to live up to. Burnley vs Chelsea (TNT Sport) kicks things off on Saturday lunchtime before Newcastle host Manchester City later the same day. Can Newcastle become just the third side to stop Erling Haaland from finding the net this season?

On Sunday, two sides in contrasting form meet at Elland Road as Leeds, one win in six, take on Aston Villa, one loss in six. That is followed by the North London derby as league leaders Arsenal host Tottenham in a fixture that is rarely short on goals and entertainment.

The weekend is rounded off on Monday evening as David Moyes returns to Old Trafford with his Everton side taking on his former side Manchester United.

Formula One - Las Vegas Grand Prix

Formula One visits the bright lights of Las Vegas this weekend as the 2025 season enters the final straight. Lando Norris has found form at the perfect time, dominating the last two rounds to open up a 24-point lead over his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri with just three races remaining. In sin city, Piastri will need to gamble everything to keep his dwindling title hopes alive. It’s another early start, but the sights and sounds of F1 cars hurtling down the near 2km Vegas strip at speeds in excess of 215mph will have you wide awake in no time.

Saturday 22nd November – Qualifying 4AM (Sky Sports F1/HD (CH 515/505)

Sunday 23rd November – Race 4AM (Sky Sports F1/HD (CH 515/505)

Rugby Union - Autumn Internationals

The autumn internationals draw to a close for England, Scotland and Ireland this weekend (Wales have one more match next weekend). England, still riding high off the back of last Saturday’s win over New Zealand, welcome Argentina to Twickenham on Sunday. Steve Borthwick’s side are looking for an 11th straight victory.

Before that, Scotland will be keen to end their autumn series on a high against Tonga at Murrayfield, whilst on Saturday there are two mouth watering contests as Wales take on New Zealand and Ireland face the current world number 1 side in South Africa.
