Helpful Answer

Windows 8 and WNDA3200 adapter.

Hi

I have installed the Windows 8 Consumer Preview on my laptop and not that the existing drivers in the WDNA3200 do not appear to work with Windows 8 at present.

With the release of Windows 8 due later this year, are VM taking steps to make sure that they will have working drivers available by the time of it's release?

Yes, because that is what both the developer preview and consumer preview are there to do, allow software and hardware companies to see how the OS works and update software and hardware as appropriate

Re: Windows 8 and WNDA3200 adapter.

Download the installer for the WNDA3100 from the Netgear site and run it (I just used the 1.2 version below), it EITHER has a driver for the 3200 included, or it recognises the drivers off the USB stick

http://support.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/844/~/wnda3100-software-version-1.2

Whichever, it worked for me and I've got W8 running fine with my WNDA3200

Thanks for the advice - unfortunately it didn't work for me, however I did manage to get the adapter working. )

These are the steps I took.

1. Plug in adapter and install VM software.

2. Went into device manager and found that adapter had not loaded drivers.

3. Clicked update drivers.  Then clicked Browse my computer for driver software

4. Clicked Let me pick from a list of Device Drivers on this computer - selected Network Devices and clicked Have disk

5. Browsed to the C:\Programfiles(x86)\NETGEAR\WDNA3200\Driver\WIN764 Folder and selected netarthrx.inf and pressed ok

6. Selected the Adapter in the next window - easy - it was the only one listed - and let Windows install the drivers.

I used to answer questions, but now I question instead. Guess why.
I'm not paranoid, they are watching.

Hi ravenstar68,

Just to verify that you have now gotten the adapter working with Windows 8?

Kind Regards,
