Hi,
I'm having a lot of problems with the wireless on the new superhub. I have one laptop with 802.11N and another laptop + two phones with 802.11G.
If I set the superhub to 5GHz mode my 802.11N laptop works great but none of the other devices can see the wireless.
If any of the devices try to download a file or use speedtest.net the wireless just gets worse and I have a large amount of packet loss. I get a max conneciton speed of 6-8MBps on wireless device but 30-32MBps on wired devices. I've already disabled flood prevention on the superhub and this problem doesn't happen to wired devices.
I'm currently using WPA2, auto channel selectiong, 300MBs, 2.4GHz.
Thanks,
Kev

Hi Kev,
Have you tried changing the channel that the wireless network is using to another channel which is less utilised in your vicinity? There are free applications available (inSSIDer, etc.) which will show the channels used by other wireless networks local to you. If you can select a channel that is not in use, your wireless signal should improve, as there will be less interference.

I have the same problem with 5GHZ mode. Works for some devices, but not others.

Hi mine has been the same since getting the superhub. The wirleless connections seem really slow compared to a normal netgear/belkin/dlink router.
It seems as though a wirless client is hammering the wirless connection.
Any thoughts anyone?

Hello andrewgbailey,
Have you tried changing the wireless channel via the hub configuration page to see if your connection improves? Have you also disabled the firewall and IP Flood Protection features on the hub?

Ray Miranda

Hi, all just upgraded to 100mb, and super the wireless is very poor,
As a work around I used my old d-link the was with my 50mb connex and turned the superhub into modem only mode. Speed test gives my laptop over 50mb download and around 8 upload regularly. Suggest if you want decent wireless drop the superhub, as I have seen lots of posts with this issue on there. You would think when virgin are suppose to be the leader in broadband speed they would of got this right from the off.
Just trying to work out how to open Nat my xbox for mw3 now?? Any ideas out there d-link has ip set for dmz and still saying moderate.
I will persevere
hope this helps
cheers

5ghz 'N' won't work with 'g' devices

I just wanted to jump in on this thread. I have just literally had a 50Mb installation with the new SuperHub.
Connected via cable, perfect and solid 50Mb speeds with low latency.
Anything wireless, including my brand new MacBook Air gets 3Mb with around 40ms ping, this has to be an issue with the hardware as it was never experienced with the old D-Link router that was used previously.
Quite annoying.

Finally managed to resolve this after spending a few hours tweaking settings.
Firstly scan networks around you and find out what channels they are on, all the virgin customers around me were on Channel 9 so I went for 7. It's apparent that the 'auto' channel select feature on the SuperHub does not work as it will stick you on channel 9 whether you like it or not. I recommed Virgin look into this.
Next thing was the 802.11 mode, it was set to up to 300 Mbps, after changing this to up to 145 Mbps - it works a treat on all devices.
I just want to reiterate that I have never had to spend so much time 'tweaking' a router for wireless connections, the auto functions should work as anticipated and it's obvious that with the SuperHub they do not.
If it happens again, it's going out of the window in place of something else, becuase it just should not happen.
