SuperHub Lockups (Wireless)

Just been looking though a few comments/posts by people. And it seems I'm not the only one getting Wireless issues by the looks of things it's due to the R26 Firmware on my SuperHub. I've been with Virgin Media years, and since the 'switch' to the SuperHub for 50mbps and then 100mbps Package I've had nothing but problems.
After being fobbed off by a number of fools in India who clearly have no clue what so ever.
I'm sure someone may or may not correct me but it seems like there is a memory leak within the Firmware (not 100% sure).

But anyway I'm getting sick of the drop outs and the total lockups from this chunk of rubbish mainly wirelessly but sometimes with a wired connection too.

I feel like just terminating my contract as I'm not willing to put up with the poor service over the phone and via email, and clearly by the Hardware. If anyone can offer some advise it'll be much appreciated.
(I'm not prepared to wait months and months for this issue to get resolved). I've waited long enough!

Regards,

Al

Re: SuperHub Lockups (Wireless)

you could apply for the R30 trial via the 30/50mb section on the forum..

well best idea would be try and alter the wireless channel to do start this download this - http://www.metageek.net/products/inssider (free wifi program but not supported by virgin media)

install it run it will show all the wireless channels from any other wireless routers in your area, look for a channel from 1 to 13 not being used, or under used. open your internet explorer type in the addresss bar http://192.168.0.1 press enter

Username: admin

password: changeme

click on advanced settings

also lower the mode from 300mpbs to 145mpbs can also help with wifi connection/speed

click on wireless settings below basic settings, and change the wireless channel, and press apply..

also make sure the hub is the open air, as high as you can make it not next to any other electronic devices like especially TV, cordless phone, baby monitors etc.

Re: SuperHub Lockups (Wireless)

Thanks, I have already tried all of the above. Changing the channel and mode, this didn't seem to help at all in fact it seemed to make it worse - I still ended up with the device locking up.
Nor is it near any other equipment as the signal interference in worst cases are rare. This was an old thing when I was a kid with the CRTs and florescent tubing interfering with the earlier first OC lines.

No firewall rules are enabled. (Remember I might as well work for Virgin Media) I know the scripts in side out... ;(
