Hello,
I has a quick read through the threads and believe that my issue is slightly unique or nothing that I found worked for me. So aplogies if this has been dealt with before, but here is my problem:
I just had a superhubg with 50 megs of fibre speed installed today and PCs work fine on the wireless network. I also would like to connect two iphones (Iphone 4 with iOS 5) to the hub though and whenever I select the network they ask me for a username AND a password. I have never been asked by a Wi Fi for a username. I know this would be WPA enterprise, but that setting is not turned on. I also have "tried" to log into another virgin network in my house and it just asks for a password, so I am assuming the problem does not lie with the phone but with my router settings. Here they come:
Channel: have tried "9" and "auto" / Current setting "9"
802.11 mode: have tried 54, 145, 300 / Current setting "up to 145"
802.11N Band: have only tried 2.4 Ghz (as I heard the iphone can't do 5)
Security Mode:
Is set on WPA Auto, but have seen no change with WPA-PSK (AES) or (when on 54 mps) WPA-PSK (TKIP).
I am a bit at a loss. I believe the network is suggesting to the iphone that it is in WPA/WPA2 Enterprise mode, but it is not and has never been. As both iphones show the same problem and the other virgin network is just asking for a password, I really think it is in these settings where I have to find the solution...
It would be fantastic if anyone could help...
Thanks!

you still need a password/passphrase for WPA Auto - i would suggest that is what the the devices are asking for - the super hub comes with wifi security enabled with a ssid and password in there - so i think you need to log in and check what it is - it should be visable in the security settings
you can change them to something easier to remember if you want

Just to clarify: I am not puzzled that I am being asked for a password. That is normal when joining a protected network. But the phone is asking for a USERNAME and PASSWORD. The password I know. But when the network has an SSID, you usually just need a password to join. I obviously tried putting the SSID as the username, but that does not work.
So once again: I have the problem because (and this is the first time I have ever seen this), the network is asking my phone(s) (and not the PCs) for a USERNAME as well... As I said: other virgin routers only ask for a password on the same phone...

And just to add that piece of info as well:
I have tried user / password combos involving the SSID, the network passphrase and the virgin email account details. Nothing worked. I am certain the problem lies therein that the network is asking me to supply a username and a password to begin with and not just a password as any other network does.
Thanks again

sorry i misunderstood - and have to add i have no idea - i can only add a couple of things
1 - my daughter uses an iphone 4 with the super hub - it sets up as you would expect as far as i know - it must have because had she had a problem it would have been me who had to solve it
2 - a quick search on google suggests turning securiry off on the router - connecting with the iphone - then setting security again - that makes little sense but is said to have worked

Hi denniske,
When you go into the wireless settings on your iPhone, can you see your network listed? If you can, what happens when you click to connect? Checking on one of a colleagues iPhone, it should ask you for a password. Can you let us know what exactly it says on your phone, or even better, upload screenshots?
