I tried this evening to change a page on my NTL website and get this permissions problem.
This is what I get in CuteFTP " Unable to transfer. This is most likely due to insufficient permissions. Verify both the destination path and permissions, then try again. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator or hosting provider."
How do I regain control over my pages?
Thanks in anticipation.

We would need to login and test the website. We are not able to do this via the forums due to data protection. Can you please call in on 0845 454 1111 or 151 from a VM landline.

Thanks for your reply Mike.
I called 151 and went through the question interogation (non of which applied to my problem) and was then told all the help desk team were busy and I would have to wait 10mins.
Not happy to do that so, unless you have any other suggestions, I'll be investigating moving my site elsewhere.

Tried the help desk again fisrt thing this morning and even though I was told there would be a 10 minute delay again the call was answered withing 15 seconds. I guess the 10 minute delay acts as a filter
I told the person about my 550 error message and after him going away 2 or 3 times, leaving me on hold, he finally came back to say there was an issue with webspace access and it could take up to 5 days to sort out and I would be contacted by an engineer.
I'm just glad I don't have any of my important websites hosted on VM.
Not very impressed

Just to close this thread, I can confirm that my access to my website now seems to be restored and I'm not getting any Error 550 messages now.
My thanks to Ralph , with whom I had a couple of telephone conversations as I assume it was he that sorted out my problems.
